Micrographic Oriented Histologic Surgery (MOHS)

Dermatology Surgery occupies a central space within the Dermatology Department. This chiefly concerns the removal of Epithelioma, malignant skin tumours. Since 1985 a dedicated technique has been applied: Micrographic Oriented Histologic Surgery, or MOHS. This involves the complete removal of the facial skin cancer. The healthy skin is spared as much as possible. The face therefore remains less disfigured while the chances of the tumour returning are lowered. Most patients are referred by their Skin Specialist.
