Why the hospital needs your help

Those people, who may want to do something for charity, may not immediately think of a university hospital. And yet…
A university hospital’s duty and desire is to provide the highest quality care. It also performs a teaching and training as well as a training mission. These three tasks are fundamental to medicine. Research, for example, can lead to the development of new or improved medication or more effective remedies against certain diseases.
However, university hospitals receive insufficient financial support to be able to undertake these three tasks; they are, as they say, ‘structurally underfinanced’. This is why university hospitals welcome the support of many. You may, for example, devote some of your time to help out in some of the hospital’s activities, or provide financial support. This can be offered either to the hospital generally, or for a specific project. This is something which often happens in practice, with patients expressing their gratitude for the excellent care by making a donation.
