About Dr. Kim van Berkel

Dr. Kim van Berkel graduated as a gynaecologist at the Free University of Brussels and since 2018 she is also a qualified clinical geneticist. Since 2008 she has been working as a staff member in the Department of Prenatal Medicine and in the Centre for Medical Genetics of the UZ Brussel. She has been a certified expert in prenatal ultrasound since 2009 and assists people with high-risk pregnancies with foetal abnormalities or with a family history of hereditary conditions. Together with fellow gynaecologists, geneticists, psychologists and counsellors a prenatal treatment path has been worked out to optimise the assistance of these high-risk pregnancies.
