About Dr. Maridi Aerts

Dr Maridi Aerts is head of the Gastroenterology Clinic. She studied at the Dutch-speaking Free University of Brussels and trained to become a gastroenterologist at UZ Brussel. She followed additional training in hepatology at UZ Gent. She is also a LEIF doctor (end of life information forum) and is a member of the hospital’s palliative support team. In addition, Dr Maridi Aerts is a member of the Flemish Gastroenterology Association (VVGE), the Belgian Association for the Study of the Liver (BASL) and the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE). She is a board member of the Belgian Society of GastroIntestinal Endoscopy (BSGIE) and of Acta Gastro-Enterologica Belga.
