EUPertStrain 2022: day two
After two years of virtual-only meetings, we are delighted to announce that the 2022 EUPertStrain/EUPertGenomics meeting will be hosted in Brussels, Belgium, where we may once again gather and discuss all matters pertussis.

Abstract submission
Please submit your abstract(s) by email (EUPertstrain2022@uzbrussel.be) before 15/08/2022. Please send a separate email for each abstract if submitting more than one. Make sure to include the following information:
- Presenting author
- Whether you wish to be considered for a poster only, oral presentation only, or both
Registration
Registration is possible until 15/08/2022 via the dedicated web form.
Registration fee
- Physical presence: €100,00 (including two lunches, one dinner on Thursday, and participation in the social event)
- Virtual access only: €25,00

How to get there
- By car:
- The Brussels Health Campus is situated near Junction 9 of the Brussels Ring road (R0). Follow the signs to the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (entrance 4). Please check back later for more detailed instructions regarding parking, which is very limited on-site!
- Please be aware of the LEZ-restrictions. The Brussels Health Campus is reachable without entering the LEZ-zone, but only just. Do check whether your car can circulate in the LEZ-zone, and if not, be cautious not to accidentally enter it or you may incur a fine.
- By public transport:
- From Brussels-South railway station (Brussel-Zuid/Bruxelles-Midi):
- take metro line 2 direction Simonis or metro line 6 direction Koning Boudewijn
- get off at Simonis
- take tram 9 (underground, MIVB)
- get off at UZ Brussel
- From Brussels-North railway station (Brussel-Noord/Bruxelles-Nord):
- take bus 14 (MIVB)
- get off at Jette UZ-VUB
- From Brussels-South railway station (Brussel-Zuid/Bruxelles-Midi):
- By plane: please be aware that there are two different airports in/near Brussels!
- Brussels Airport (Zaventem): BRU
- From here you may take the train to Brussels-North followed by bus 14 (MIVB) to get to the Brussels Health Campus (UZ Brussel).
- Alternatively, you can take bus 820 (De Lijn) directly to the hospital (get off at Jette UZ-VUB).
- If you wish to take a taxi, make sure you get an official, licensed one (recognisable by the T-license plate).
- Brussels South Charleroi Airport (Charleroi): CRL
- Please note that this airport is situated much farther from Brussels centre and not as easily reachable.
- A direct bus (line A) can take you to Charleroi Sud railway station (± 20 minutes). From there, you can take the train to Brussels-North or Brussels-South (about one hour) and proceed as above.
- Brussels Airport (Zaventem): BRU
Accommodation
Participants need to arrange their own accommodation. There are no hotels within walking distance of the venue, but we suggest you consider one of the numerous hotels in the vicinity of the Brussels-South railway station. It is easy to reach the venue from there using public transport (more detailed directions will follow), and we will meet nearby on Thursday evening to depart for the social event.

Covid-19 guidelines

Measures in place on 01/07/2022:
- Please check https://reopen.europa.eu/en for information regarding your travel to Belgium.
- There are no restrictions on travel within Belgium.
- There are no restrictions on shopping and restaurant activity in Belgium.
- The wearing of a facemask is no longer mandated in public spaces, except for in hospitals, at doctor’s offices or in pharmacies. However, you do not need to enter the hospital in order to reach the venue.
- It is recommended to still wear a mask when using public transport, but not mandatory.
