As of Monday 2 November visits are temporarily not allowed

Due to the increasing number of COVID-19 infections and the increasing pressure on the hospital, visits are temporarily not allowed in the UZ Brussel as of Monday 2 November.

Exceptions for specific departments and circumstances

There are a number of exceptions to this general rule for specific departments and circumstances (e.g. in a palliative context). In that case, family will be further informed about the visiting conditions via the nursing units. The family member receives a red visitor card.

As of Monday 2 november only red visitor cards are valid. Previously issued green tickets will then no longer be valid. Previously issued green visitor cards will then no longer be valid.

Visits at KidZ Health Castle

At KidZ Health Castle siblings are no longer allowed to visit. There are specific regulations for parents or accompanying persons.

Staying in contact with your family member

In these difficult times, UZ Brussel is doing all it can to ensure that patients and their families can stay in touch as much as possible.

  • If you are a member of a patient’s family and require information, call our family member info line at 02 477 88 01 on working days from 08:00 to 18:00, or contact us by email at socialedienst@uzbrussel.be. You can request video chats via the email address.
  • Appointments with the doctor or the social worker will still be made by phone only.

Package service

Family members of an inpatient may give personal belongings, clothing, etc. to the guard at the main entrance of the hospital building. This can be done on weekdays from 08:00 to 18:00 and on Saturday from 12:00 to 16:00. The packages must be marked with the patient’s name. 

Different rules apply to the collection of used laundry.
