Ophthalmic Examinations

An ophthalmic examination usually starts with a general examination (an orthoptic examination in children), but can be expanded to include:

  • Visual field examination
  • Fundus photography
  • Fundus autofluorescence
  • OCT scanning (anterior/posterior)
  • Electrophysiology (EOG, ERG, VEP)
  • Ultrasound and UBM
  • CT/MRI
  • Specular microscopy
  • Scheimpflug imaging
  • Examination under sedation in children

Afterwards, it will be determined which medical or surgical treatment or other care pathway will be followed.
