Stomach and intestinal examination (colonoscopy)

The Department of Stomach, Intestinal and Liver Diseases performs colonoscopies. Here they treat diseases of the digestive system, including of the oesophagus, the stomach, the intestine, the liver and pancreas. The department has developed specific areas of expertise for all of these disorders.

With regards to endoscopic examinations, the department offers basic endoscopy as well as interventional endoscopy to patients. The latest new technology is used for these endoscopic examinations.

Interventional endoscopy

Interventional endoscopy is used for:

  • The treatment of complex pancreatic and biliary pathology
  • The treatment of superficial tumours through endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), and peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM)
  • Endoscopic treatment of Zenker’s diverticulum
  • Bariatric endoscopy
