Preparing for the appointment
Come to your appointment prepared. What should you bring with you?
-
Home medication
To be able to provide good, safe treatment, your dermatologist needs to know what drugs, vitamins and food supplements you use at home and how you take these. Use the home medication diagram for this. You can have it filled in by your GP, regular pharmacist and home care nurse. It is also useful to bring your home medication with you to your appointment.
-
Letter of referral
If you were referred by a GP or a specialist, bring your letter of referral and the results of previous examinations (such as a skin biopsy, recent blood test results, etc.) with you as well.
-
Information on previous skin treatments
Tell your dermatologist during your appointment about previous treatments that you have been given for your skin disorders (tablets, ointments (including the preparation if applicable), etc., and the length of the treatment).
