What is an allergy?
If you have an allergy, you display an abnormal reaction to allergens. These are harmless substances in your living or working environment. You can come into contact with them by breathing them in, eating them or via your skin. Allergic reactions vary widely: from a fairly harmless reaction to a sometimes life-threatening situation.
